King's Island, Birthday plans & Update

This past weekend Andy, Thomas, Owen and I took a day and went to a big theme park called King's Island in Cincinnati OH.  It was one of those days that we needed a grandma around to babysit.  I ended up only going on 3 coasters (all of which were super fun!) and seeing the Snoopy on ice show twice hahahaha.  I actually chose to go twice because Owen enjoyed the lights and music and skating (and luckily fell asleep during the second show) and it was WAY cooler inside the theatre.  They closed most of the rides for about 30-45 minutes because a huge storm came in and poured. Andy and Owen found shelter in the game booth and then jumped puddles while Thomas and I waited in line and then rode an indoor roller coaster.  Then, when we got off the ride, it had stopped raining and we were pooped and starving.  Theme parks are fun, but it seems as we get older we can no longer do the full day/night adventures like when we were kids.  Sad but true.  Owen was sooo good all day considering the hot weather and only one half hour nap.  Unfortunately, we only got one pic of the fam and it was dark. The rest are just of cute Owen.  He's all anyone really wants to see anyway!

So fun watching the roller coaster while picking up rocks and running from mom!

Oh, I think he would have liked Snoopy if he wasn't so tired

Uncle Thomas got to go on the Snoopy whirl-wind ride with Owen
And even being exhausted, I had this happy as a lark, toe chewing baby on the two hour ride home!

Andy's and my birthday are coming up in a couple days (Andy's Thursday, mine Friday)  Due to work, I'm sure the days will be quite uneventful.  However, for Andy's birthday we got tickets to see an Indianapolis Colts vs. Green Bay Packers pre-season football game on Aug 27th!  On row 3!  Andy's really excited about it and luckily my cousin only lives 20 min away so she can babysit Owen for us.  And for me, we found an awesome picture of Christ walking on water to hang above our fireplace.

As for my previous dilemma, I'm going to live (although some days I feel I might kill Andy...Birth control does that to me! Makes me crazy, I hate it), I haven't weaned Owen (but have cut down how many times he is nursing per day) and decided I'd wait til we get home.  I was an emotional mess and couldn't sleep when considering weaning him, but now that I've had some time I think I'm more stable and ready to do it :) So wish me luck when that time comes! (Andy may have to move out because he can't handle the slightest bit of crying!)

I love sucking on my toes on long car rides... hahaha. Owen is too cute. Good luck with the weaning. I don't envy you (except for your fun travels, THAT I do envy)!
