Disclaimer: This post is kind of a journal entry for my sake so if you don't care, stop now.
I feel like we've been busy busy busy! Moving is a lot of work. And as soon as we got home and unpacked we packed up again and went to Vegas for Labor Day weekend. But I'm getting ahead of myself....
Our last week in Indianapolis was eventful. Andy worked some but then we took some time before we left and went and walked around some gardens one day.
Another day took Owen to the Children's Museum, which is so huge and awesome! He was hesitant at first as he checked things out but then was running around like it was his own little play place. They had a stuffed bear and he'd go over and growl at it. So funny. Of course, he now growls at all animals, and most everything else as well.
After that we had dinner and my cousin, Trefin, came and babysat Owen while we went to the Colts vs. Packers pre-season football game. Trefin took Owen to her town's High School football game, where Owen was a hit with the kids. The Lucas Oil Stadium is HUGE. and we were super close to the field, which actually makes seeing the game kind of difficult, but it was a fun experience. We ended up leaving early because it was a late game and it wasn't too exciting. And of course the last 5 minutes of the game that we missed ended up being the best part. Oh well.
The next day was spent packing for like 12 hours. Owen was very helpful and pulled one thing out as I put one in! Things always take twice as long with a child around. Sunday morning we headed out bright and early at 4:00 AM which ends up being 2:00 AM Utah time. Owen and I flew and he did so great. Poor Andy had to drive for 23 Hours (over two days). My brother, Abe, and his family were in UT so we got to play with them for the day so that was fun. Yummy food and playing in the irrigation with cousins makes for some good times.
Since then Andy has been working to finish our yard up. He's such a hard worker and I'm so lucky he's so handy! It's looking really good and we are super close to getting sod! YAY! Can't wait to be done with all the dust. Of course Owen likes walking around in the dirt and drinking his water
Labor Day weekend we headed to Pirates Cove which is just outside Las Vegas for a fun weekend with our Vivint friends. Unfortunately, I left my camera at home (after making sure I had charged the battery) so I have to wait to get pics from some of the other people. This place was so cool. It's a mansion that the owner rents to corporations for a whopping $10,000/day! It's all pirate themed with a bunch of villas. There are three pools, two slides, a rope swing and a crows nest and some waterfalls to jump off into the water. The kiddie pool had a little cave you could go back into with a fish tank and Owen loved it! We love the sun and water but we were all worn out and ready to come home after the weekend. I was worried about driving for so long with Owen, but he did really well. I'm lucky to have such an easy-going, happy baby.
We are feeling so blessed right now! It's great to be home.
