Owen is so much fun. I love this stage. He is a chatterbox! And cracks me up several times a day. He loves his brother. Sometimes too much. And loves to poke and put his feet on Gray...usually in the eyes/face. I have to move him away many times a day! It can be rather frustrating. In fact, one day I could here him in my room where Gray was sleeping and I said "Owen what are you doing?" and he came running out and said "Don't put your feet on him!" (I say this a hundred times daily) I asked if he was bugging the baby and he very matter of factually said "Yeah." He is so sweet though. He regularly tells Andy and I that he loves us. I love it. And he's so forgiving. I get upset with him so often lately and he never holds it against me. It'd be nice if we could all be that way. He also likes to say the prayers now. It's adorable! Last weekend we went to the aquarium and that night he prayed, "Heavenly father. Thank you for fish, and Nemo, and seeing crabs, and turtle, and shark and playing with Madi, and Kylee, Mom, Dad, Monica...Monica....Monica" Then he got stuck and started singing the sugar plum song so I helped him end. But he really does know what he's praying for. He often is thankful for Madi. He loves playing with her. Back to the aquarium...He LOVED it. He was tired because it was nap time but he could have stayed forever looking at the fish and penguins. He loved the sharks and turtle and One of the first fish tanks he saw he said "Oh, it's nemo....There's Dori!" Oh that was another funny thing he said one day. We were driving and he had been watching Nemo daily and he just starts talking and says, "Hi! I'm Dori. I'm Nemo" (Conversation in the movie) I just laughed. He also loves singing lately. His favorites are the sugar plum song, Call me maybe (I have to get this on video. I love it) Justin Beiber's Baby baby, Katy Perry's Wide awake, and the ABC's. He knows them so well (with the exception of skipping J,K) The Abc's were another one of those things he just started doing when we were driving in the car. I was shocked the first time he got all the way thru. He is slowly potty training. I'm not trying too hard because it's a lot of work and that's just too stressful with a newborn. But, he does really well by himself. I usually just let him run around naked and he'll tell me when he needs to go. One night he actually went in the bathroom and I went in because I thought he was going to play in the sink. He'd taken of his diaper and got on the toilet himself...BEFORE he peed in his diaper! Proud mama moment for sure. He's so funny though, every time we take off his diaper he wants to see what's inside! So gross! And then he has to throw it away. He cries if we do it. One day we changed him at my mom's and her dog grabbed it and was walking around and he went chasing after her and said, "NO PEPPER!! THAT'S MY GARBAGE!" It was hilarious.
I'm a lucky mom. I have the cutest, sweetest boys to share my life with. I couldn't imagine not having them. Oh, it'd be a lot easier, but definitely not as joyful.
