Ending March

We did a few things at the end of March that are noteworthy.  We were invited to a fancy-schmancy dinner party at the State Capitol for Shawn Brenchley, one of the owners at Vivint that retired. We got dressed up and they had dinner and a little tribute for him. And bonus, we got to hang out with our good friends, Rick and Leah Bassett. I'd actually never been inside the Capitol building before. It is pretty spectacular.

Easter Sunday was nice. It was actually my niece's, Kylee, birthday.  She in officially a teenager now. And she spoke for the first time in Sacrament meeting so we went and listened to her. She did great. We then went to the Nielsen house for a shrimp taco Easter/Birthday celebration. The kiddos had a little egg hunt and we just visited and had fun. Owen really enjoyed finding eggs this year. (Last year in Florida he didn't really know what to do). In his basket he got a cute little frog bank and some crazy straws.

For an update on the boys...Owen is just funny. His vocabulary grows everyday and he makes us laugh all the time. A few things that I've written down:
Andy was trying on his old suit and Owen says, "you look Beautiful, dad" He also told me "oh you pretty mom" one day when I had actually gotten dressed and ready :).
One morning he came out of his room and said "what ya making mom?" (This isn't new, he asks that every morning) I told him I was making hootenanny and he said, "OH, that sounds good...hootenanny" I wish I had a recording because the way he says everything is so emphatic and hilarious. He also loves to hit with the bat lately and he will bring you a ball and say, "I'm ready, hit it to my bat!" And lastly, the other day I was changing his dirty diaper after he napped (he won't poop in the toilet...anyone know how to fix this??) and I said, "EWW it's a big one" and he says, "Yeah it's a big dinosaur poop" HAHA  I laughed so hard.Oh and he's so observant. I bought some new running shoes and I put them on to try out one day and he came downstairs and says, "oh hey mom, you got new shoes!" Or when I get ready to go somewhere he always knows I'm leaving and will ask, "where ya going mom? I wanna go with you."

Grayson is just growing so fast. He just cut his first tooth this week. It has been rough. Lots of crying, little sleeping. I'm exhausted. Owen never really showed any teething signs, I just noticed teeth in his mouth one day, but it's been harder this time around. He is also trying so hard to crawl. He rocks on his hands and knees all the time. To move he usually rolls or scoots on his bum. He also tries to pull himself to standing on his toys but 1. the toys aren't sturdy enough to hold him and 2. his legs aren't quite sturdy enough either. But I'm sure he'll be moving in no time. He's already 8 months old in just a few more days!

They are super cute. And what a good big brother Owen is.
As for the pooping situation...I have no idea. Let him walk around naked? Isn't potty training exhausting!?
