May

This last week we planted our garden!!  YAY for being home in the summer and having a garden! I'm so lucky to have such an amazing husband. He sprayed all the weeds. Roto-tilled the garden then pretty much did all the planting (with minimal help from me. It's hard to bend over and dig with a pregnant belly.) We probably planted too much, but I'm so excited for all our fresh veggies.  As soon as he finished with the garden, Andy started digging MANY MANY holes and putting up a beautiful fence around our yard (They let the water down into the canal that borders our house and I don't want my baby drowning. this fence will also save our garden from being eaten by the ducks in the canal...) It isn't finished yet, but it is looking very nice. Now I just want to plant some flowers for some color...that is Andy's LAST thing on the list of to-do's....He's kind of anti-flowers haha.

The garden

This doesn't look like much yet, but there are seeds in every spot of that plot

We went to Prairie Schooner for a Mother's Day dinner with my family. It use to be my favorite place for my birthday dinner's, but we hadn't been in a long time. Owen liked all the stuffed animals and of course getting to play with his cousins. He kept trying to kiss Lucia and Scarlett...so cute.

It's so fun to be home because we finally get to do all the fun summer stuff around here. We took Owen to the Smithfield parade for Health Days. Then went to the booths. He loved the big blow up play place. And grandma Flygare bought him a sword and bubble gun. He loves them both.

We also went to the horse pulls at Black & White days in Richmond. I'd never been before so it was a new experience. Owen, of course, loved the horses. Some of them were HUGE! We met up with our friends the Kidd's. Owen liked their cool cowboy hats.

I also made strawberry jam for the first time. It's actually really easy. I LOVE homemade jam.

Umm...HOLY HUGE GARDEN! I love it and you guys have done an awesome job. What did you plant? I'm an excellent taste tester of fresh veggies. It's on my resume. ;)
Those blow up play places were awesome. I've never seen any like that before. I'll have to go next year.
Owen is a doll and getting so big, your belly however is still little and adorable.
Miss yer face!

HOLY CRAP! You're garden is huge!!! I want to live in it. It could feed a small country! Just kidding, I read the post following this one first, so I am just giving you a hard time. In all seriousness, your garden does look amazing! Way to go chica!
