So far this month has been busy....And it is only the 7th!
Yesterday I had my 34 week doctor appointment. I've had quite a few contractions this week and he feels like he's sitting low so I asked the doctor to check me....I'm dilated to a 2 and 80% effaced. Basically he said to take it easy to prevent contractions. Here's the thing...It makes me both excited and nervous. I'd totally love to have him early, but only if he's healthy. I feel so ready to be done with pregnancy. I don't sleep because there is no comfortable position (I think this happens to prepare you for all-night feedings with a newborn. It's really not fair) This week, my ribs feel like I've been kicked by a horse...they are sore, and I'm sure bruised, and it hurts. It's so hard to breathe. I miss exercise! Oh how I miss it. Not to mention I feel so unattractive. Luckily, I have a sweet husband who tells me daily that I get more beautiful everyday...and it's so sincere I actually believe him sometimes ;)
Now for the fun stuff. Andy's cousins from Colorado always come for the 4th and they are so fun. Andy's parent's made this awesome hill for sliding in both winter and summer. So they got a huge tarp, rolled it down the hill and put a hose on it. At the bottom they put some hay bales for the tarp to go over and created a big pool at the end of the slide. It was awesome. (Too bad I was afraid I'd go into labor if I joined the fun)
| Love Owen's smile in this one..wish it wasn't blurry |
One day Andy and his family went on a mountain bike ride, which I obviously can't do, so Owen and I went to my mom's and played in the irrigation and picked cherries. It was so cute. After he picked the ones he could reach he said, "too heavy (He says heavy for most things that are hard to do ha) reach mom." He says some of the funniest things lately. Some of my favorites are: He has a Mickey Mouse and Goofy figurine in his room that he always wants to hold, and for Goofy he says, "Goosy" he also says "elesant" for elephant. He can say the F sound like in Fish, but for some reason it's hard when it's in the middle. He calls licorice "goshir" and smarties are "frodos" hahaha. Hilarious. Last night when we were going to bed Andy rolled over and Owen says, "STOP MOOOVING" (I always tell Andy that because he tosses and it disturbs Owen. And, yes, he's sleeping in our bed...It's a bad habit, but I'm too tired to fight all night to get him in his own bed, plus we kinda like to snuggle.) He also said, "night night, lub you" for the first time without being told to say it. It was adorable. A couple weeks ago we took away the binky...he actually threw them in the garbage by himself when I told him to. Then for about a week he'd say "binkies, garbage" when he'd get tired. So sad and cute at the same time. Getting him to sleep since has been a struggle. Some days I'd like to just give him one because I know he'd lay down and go right to sleep. Hopefully, soon, he'll figure it out and stop fighting so hard.
Logan fireworks were on the 3rd. We all went to eat at the Olive Garden and then watched the fireworks from our front yard. You can see them perfectly, although not quite as big as if you were closer, but good enough for us. Owen loved them. He'd say "OOOh....Wow" Then when they were over he kept saying "bye bye fire" And ever since he'll just randomly look outside and say "see fireworks"

You have been one busy momma! I can't believe you're already dilated and effaced! You're going to sneeze and that baby will pop right out. Ha ha ha! Owen is a complete doll and where did he get frodos to mean smarties? Ha ha ha. Can't wait to meet this new kiddo but take it easy...just not too easy. ;)
You seem like you've had such a fun summer! As always you look incredible. Owen is so darling.
